About

My favourite pudding is ice-cream, most flavours, any combination. I’m a secret believer in serendipity. Words I like to drop into conversation are discombobulate, haberdashery and plinth. I would love my life to be more outdoors – when I sit at my desk job I try to quell quiet desires to be outdoors running in the sunshine, painting in a vast studio or crafting a jaunty novel whilst soaking in the bath.

I’m not as politically aware as I’d like to be but I’m getting there. Ideas stimulate my mind and theoretical conversations make my noggin jingle. I find the online world a fascinating place and love interacting with the kinds of individuals I would never meet in real life.

  1. Hi,

My partner and I love your site!

We are a lesbian couple who recently got married and shortly after started a clothing company called “Broom and Gride.” We started the company because when we were in the process of getting married, we couldn’t relate to being called “brides” or “grooms” because we felt those terms were outdated and did not apply to us. So we gave those terms a new twist and came up with “broom” and “gride.” We got shirts made and wore them to our bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner, and our reception the night of the big day! We got such a great response that we decided if WE couldn’t relate to those terms then there must be others out there who would agree.

Please visit our website at http://www.broomandgride.com
A portion of each sale will be donated to organizations that promote same-sex marriage and equality for all.

We would love to be interviewed or mentioned on your site or magazine. Please feel free to contact us if you are interested. We look forward to hearing from you!

    Sincerely,

    Shelly & Allyson
